Indeed, openness and having those difficult conversations is key to the progression and wellbeing of the black diaspora. There are too many instances where we fail to have those conversations, instead letting others dictate our narrative for us, all because we remained in denial or unwilling to address what needed to be acknowledged as an issue in our community.
